The SD-9 developed and manufactured by MicroStep-MIS, is a robust and reliable solution for measuring snow or water height.

The microprocessor controlled probe measures distance from the solid obstacle and provides either the measured distance, or the difference of the pre-set constant and the measured distance as an output (e.g. in case of snow or water height measurement). On demand, sensor can be equipped with additional heating for icing elimination. Sensor is able to compensate the distance according to actual temperature - either measured by external device or automatically by connected PT100 temperature probe. The SD-9 is usually mounted on meteorological mast using optional cross arm up to height of 10 meters.
